Ujjain : A grand light and sound ‘Ramleela’ was inaugurated at Samajik Nyay Parisar here on Sunday evening. Principal Secretary of MP Department of Culture Manoj Shrivastava, Founder of Chardham Temple Shanti Swarupanand Maharaj, MP State Planning Commission Vice-chairman Babulal Jain, School Education Minister Paras Jain, Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya and Collector Kavindra Kiyawat kindled the holy lamp to inaugurate the ‘Ramleela’.
On the first day of Ramleela, Shiv Barat was taken out to King Himachal. Artists enthralled the audience with their live performances in different scenes of Ramleela. The marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati was beautifully enacted. Ravana sacrificed his ten heads before Lord Shiva after doing penance along with his brothers Kumbhkaran and Vibhishan. He longed for a boon of immortality from Lord Brahma. Artists also enacted how devil Ravana autocratically occupied Lanka and paradise and started doing atrocities on deities, seers, and women.
All the guests addressed during the inaugural programme and praised the efforts of Sanskar Manch for promoting Indian culture and religion through the organisation of Ramleela in the city of temples. Municipal Commissioner Avinash Lavania and Ullas Vaidya were present on the occasion. Convener Sonu Gehlot delivered welcome speech whiel treasurer Bhagwan Sharma welcomed the guests. Shashi Pateria conducted the programme.
