Govt delegation to tour Puri

Ujjain : A delegation of senior officials of the Madhya Pradesh government will tour Puri during next couple of days in view of the traditional Nabakalebara Festival being organised at the Jagannath Temple.

This tour has been organised on the behest of Chief Secretary (CS) Anthony de Sa, who wants better arrangements in Ujjain in the wake of a month-long Simhastha Fair, to be held during April-May, 2016. The CS along with Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastor, Collector Kavindra Kiyawat, SP Manohar Verma and Simhastha Fair Officer Avinash Lavania is likely to reach Puri on July 10 and will remain there till July 11.

The Nabakalebara Festival is organised in Puri on every 19/18/14 years and previously it was organised in the year 1996. It will be organised in the year 2035. This year, the festival began from March 29 and will conclude on July 17. 5 million pilgrims are expected to take part in the event.
