Ujjain : Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was remembered by Congressmen and denizens city on her birth anniversary by organising different programmes across the city on Thursday.
Chief of District Congress Committee (DCC), Anantnarayan Meena along with the president of Madhav Nagar block congress Ajeet Singh Thakur and other members of DCC garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi located at Priyadarshani Square. On the occasion Meena termed former Prime Minister Indira as Iron Lady of the country. Similarly, Daulatganj Block Congress and Maharajwada Block Congress Committee jointly garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi in presence of former secretary of MPCC Yogesh Sharma.
Likewise, Gandhi was also remembered in Awantika College in the presence of former MLA Rajendra Bharti, principal of the College Kaina Bhonsle and staff. Former MLA, Batukshankar Joshi, president of Zila Panchayat Mahesh Parmar, secretary of MPCC Chetan Yadav and other congressmen paid floral tribute to Gandhi at Ajay Hotel located at Dewasgate on the occasion.
