Ujjain : Fire fighters struggled for more than 4 hours to douse inferno that broke out at Saurabh Chemicals here on Thursday night.
Compound of Saurabh Chemicals wore devastated look after the fire was doused by the fire fighters. A car kept in the compound; machinery and other equipment worth crores were totally destroyed in the fire. Fire fighters struggled in dousing fire because of the absence of foam tenders in their resources. Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya also visited the spot on Friday morning.
According to an insurance official, owner of the factory Saurabh Maaru had an insurance of Rs 5 crores for the machinery, equipments and other items, but the last night fire has damaged material worth over Rs 5 crores. No casualties were reported in the accident. High and mighty claims of fire department failed squarely after the fire accident of Saurabh Chemicals. The incident became a talking point of the city and people agree that arrangements for fire control are insufficient.
