Action taken against 218 public carriers


>BHOPAL: The traffic police took action against 218 public transport vehicles for not following the safety measures. At the traffic check points in the City, the traffic police stopped school bus, mini bus, star bus and Tata Magic and checked if they had first aid box and fire extinguishers. Action was taken against those vehicles which were found without those safety tools. The traffic police told the drivers of those vehicles to get those safety measures in their vehicles within three days.

Water tanks will be given to Khanugao school

Water tanks, mini garden swings, water harvesting, library, inverter and sports equipment will be provided to government secondary school, Khanugaon, under the aegis of NDTV Support My School, Coca Cola and Aarambh institute, at a function on Sunday. District education officer Chandramohan Upadhyaya will be the chief guest in the function.

ABVP secy leaves for China today

State secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Madhya Bharat, Bharati Kumbhare will tour China as a member of Indian contingent, under India- China Exchange Programme. Bharati will leave for China ( Beijing) on Sunday from Delhi. Bharati will be a part of 500 member contingent, belonging to social areas.

Classical and jazz music concert today

Alliance Francaise de Bhopal, the Indo- French Cultural Centre, with the support of French Embassy in India, is organising a ‘ classical and jazz music concert’ by renowned French musician Eric Le Chartier and Jamal Moqadem on Sunday at Antarang Hall of Bharat Bhawan.

Parent’s Day celebrated Grand

Parents Day was celebrated at Sharda Vidya Mandir on Saturday. A colourful cultural programme was organised which was attended by children of the pre- primary classes of the school. Shefali Gautam, principal, directors Natrajan and Vinay Agarwal were also present on the occasion.

PhD awarded Shalini adav has been awarded PhD by Rajiv Gandhi Technical University for her research work on ‘ Development of Treatment Technology for Hazardous Waste Generated from Glass Industry’. Shalini did her research work under the guidance of Dr V Chakradhar and Dr A K Sharma.

Blood donation camp today

A blood donation camp will be held at Shri Digambar Jain Mandir, T T Nagar on Sunday at 10am, under the aegis of Jain Engineer’s Society. Blood donors will be felicitated and given a certificate. Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre will also issue them a card on the basis of which blood donors, in case of need, could get blood.

Janani Suraksha Cell meet today

A state- level convention of the newly formed Janani Suraksha Cell of Bharatiya Janata Party will be held at the party office, Pandit Deendayal Parisar on Sunday. BJP state president Prabhat Jha will attend the convention and assess the progress made by the cell, besides giving guidance. MP Sumitra Mahajan, state general secretary Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, senior minister Narottam Mishra, Archana Chitnis and Ranjana Baghel will be present in the convention.

Janani Suraksha ojana cell state convener Kranti Joshi said that an exhibition will be held in the convention on Janani Suraksha ojana. Membership campaign will also be launched.
