Ujjain : Engineers’ Day was celebrated at different departments and city engineering institutes in the city to mark birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, on Monday.
Engineers Forum Ujjain celebrated the occasion at Chief Engineer PWD office premises. Founder Director MIT Dr DS Saxena was chief guest while Ujjain Engineering College principal Dr CK Patil chaired the programme. Engineers garlanded the idol of Visvesvaraya on this occasion. Superintending engineer PWD Anant Gore and SE UMC VK Soni informed about the preparations for Simhastha being done by department. SE SC Shukla spoke on the character of Sir Visvesvaraya. Dr AC Shukla conducted the programme while in-charge PWD Komal Bhutra proposed the vote of thanks.
Mahakal Group of Institutes (MGI) also celebrated Engineers’ Day on Monday. Vice-chairman Academics Aditya Vasishtha paid floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. MIT director Dr Vivek Bansod addressed on this occasion. Dr SC Mahajan, Dr Rishi Dubey, Prof VM Shah, Dr JN Vyas, faculty members and students were present.
Likewise, Alpine Institute of Technology celebrated Engineers’ Day to mark birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Students paid floral tribute to the idol of Sir Visvesvaraya. Principal Dr Vivek Dubey informed students about the contribution of Sir Visvesvaraya in the field of engineering. Chairman Vivek Jaiswal, director Prof Rajesh Sharma, UIPS principal Dr Hemant Joshi and others were present.
ABVP celebrated the occasion at Ujjain Engineering College on Monday. A lecture on ‘Contribution of Engineers in Development of India’ and an extempore competition were organised to mark the occasion. Former engineer of UDA Jayant Dhabde was chief guest while ABVP joint secretary Sushi Wadia was special guest. UEC principal Dr CD Patil chaired the programme. Sarthak Singh conducted the programme while Ramveer Singh Chandel proposed the vote of thanks.
