Ujjain : After the temperature again hitting the 41 degree Celsius mark onWednesday the city witnessed hazy weather conditions due to cloud cover and dust from winds blowing from the west. He minimum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 25 degree Celsius. Within the city, the sizzling conditions were made worse by hot winds blowing through the air which kept many people indoors in comfort of their coolers and air conditioners in anticipation of rainfall.
Temperature in the region has been rising steadily since the last week of April and over the past few days, the sun is not showing any mercy, affecting normal life. Meanwhile, scarcity of water and electricity has hit certain areas of the city hard, as many areas have not got regular supply. At the same time reports from Gambhir Dam the only reservoir to supply potable water in the city is only capable of supplying water for mere 50 days, with its current storage of 280 McFt and according to weatherman the monsoon is not looking that promising in the area.
