Ujjain: Former civil surgeon and pediatrician Dr DPS Geharwar was on Tuesday made in- charge Chief Medical and Health Officer ( CMHO). He replaces CMHO Dr MK Dixit, who was booked under the relevant provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 as he sought a bribe of Rs 2000 from a lady accounts manager through his head clerk SC Sharma on last Friday. Lok Ayukta Police had arrested the head clerk receiving the bribe red handed, but Dr Dixit has been under ground since then. According to Dr Geharwar, his appointment as the CMHO is a stopgap arrangement.
