Ujjain : A work shop on The Integrated Divisional Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pneumonia and Diarrhoea was organised here on Thursday. Divisional commissioner Dr Ravindra Pastor presided over the workshop.
The workshop aimed for closer integration of efforts to prevent and treat these two diseases and sets ambitious targets to reduce mortality rates and raise levels of children’s access to life-saving interventions. Dr Pastor on the occasion said every project is initiated with community and public participation in mind. Health department can also plan its projects so that responsibilities can also be given to public for their active participation. Dr Pastor lauded the importance of cleanliness and good sanitation habits on the occasion. Cleanliness is the most important factor which can prevent many diseases.
Dr Dileep Nagar informed about the aim of programme which is to reduce infant mortality rate. Additional Collector Dr Kailash Bundela, deputy director health department Dr Rajshree Bajaj, Dr Josh Sood of Clinton foundation, regional coordinator UNICEF Dr Harsh Raijada were present.
