Ujjain : Disaster management should be on top priority for Simhastha Fair-2016. Even the slightest negligence would not be tolerated in that direction. All Akhadas and camps should have safety measures of firefighting. All concerned departments should ensure that Akhadas should not have stock of LPG cylinders, diesel and petrol for more than 2 days.

Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastor issued these directives during Simhastha standup meeting at Mangalnath Zone, on Friday. It was informed that Mangalnath Zone has 5 ghats. Irrigation department was directed to build separate exit and entrance towards ghats for devotees. Maintenance of old ghats should be done. A biogas plant would be setup at the zone. The waste from the temples should not be immersed in the river. Large baskets should be placed at the temple premises. Each zone should have a mortuary van and there should have appropriate arrangement for the autopsy of dead bodies. It was also informed that the zone will have 9000 toilets. Community toilets will be made at 27 spots. Dr Pastor asked to count the toilets as per the temporary population residing at the zone.

Zonal Magistrate Narendra Suryawanshi and ASP JS Dabar were directed that four-wheeler vehicles parked on newly built roads should be seized. Ujjain Municipal Corporation was asked to initiate a drive for removal of encroachment from roads. Dr Pastor directed to build parking lot on the land lying vacant in front of Sandipani Ashram. MPEB informed that 1500 out of 2275 poles have been installed at the zone. 12 km power cable has been spread over the zone and the current is flowing in it. Parking should also have toilet and drinking water facility. For every plot of 1200 square meter, two sanitary workers will be deployed. They would work in two shifts. A work plan should be prepared to empty the waste containers in a day or night.

Departmental officers were asked to decide the nearest petrol pump of their zone to fuel their vehicles. A vehicle from one zone should not go to the petrol pump of other zone. All vehicles should be equipped with GPS. Simhastha Fair Authority Chairman Diwakar Natu, Collector Kavindra Kiywat, Additional Collector Narendra Suryawanshi and others were present.
