Ujjain: Dense fog enveloped city sky after once again temperature dipped down to 12.4 degree Celsius here on Friday. Mist was so dense that vehicles at short distance were invisible on city roads.Dozens of trains got delayed as the railway track experienced thick fog.
As the temperature was recorded 14 degree Celsius on Wednesday night, it fell down to 12.4 degree Celsius on Thursday night. Even the day’s temperature recorded fall of 2 degree Celsius. Commuters had inconvenience to travel as the mist made everything invisible on roads. Visibility was only 10 meter and school buses and other vehicles were seen creeping on the streets. Even humidity level hiked to 90 percent on Friday morning due to frost in the air.
Sun peeped out of the sky at 11 am and citizens took sigh of relax and sat in the open to feel the sun heat. Temperature has been playing hide and seek for last few days as it got hiked on Thursday and dipped down on Friday.
Fog was too thick in the outskirts of the city. It was very dense fog prevailed on Dewas Road on Fridaymorning.People were seen sitting surrounding bonfire at city squares to get warmth amidst severe cold. According to farmers, the cold could affect crops in the fields.
Frost fall can create havoc for the wheat and gram crops. Though, farmers are trying to prevent their crops from cold effect. They are creating smoke around the fields and removing frost drops from the leaves of the plants.
