Ujjain : City markets decked up for the festival of lights attracted citizens to shop for festivity on the occasion of Pushya Nakshatra here on Thursday.
Bumper shopping was witnessed at Sarafa and automobile markets as people were involved in pre- festive shopping.
On the first day of Pushya Nakshatra on Thursday, people thronged to Sarafa market and did festive shopping for family members. People bought diamond, gold and silver jewelries during auspicious hours of the day. Automobile market was also dazzling with the fresh arrival of customers at city outlets. People were seen buying the brand new bikes and cars with smiley faces.
Traditional shops for the sale of Bahi Khata ( accounts) are decked up for traders. Utensil market of the city has been decked up like a newlywed bride on the first day of Pushya Nakshatra. People also bought brass, copper and steel utensils.
Heavy crowd of consumers were seen at cloth market. oungsters prefer to shop at readymade garment showrooms opened recently in the city. Electronics goods shops also attracted consumers to purchase latest gadgets.
