Ujjain : District Congress Committee ( DCC) on Monday organised a sit- in protest at Gopal Mandir in protest against levying higher tax on LPG gas cylinders in the State by Shivrajled BJP government. DCC Urban president Anantnarayan Meena addressing the protesters said that the BJP government is putting extra burden on common man by imposing higher tax.
Consumers are being looted in the name of VAT and other taxes, he said. The public want the government to levy minimum tax on LPG cylinders. LPG cylinders costlier in MP comparing to other states. The State consumers are paying Rs 90 more than their counterparts in other States. A memorandum addressed to the Governor was handed over to tehsildar Sunil Jaiswal. DCC rural president Jay Singh Darbar, former MLAs Batukshankar Joshi, Rajendra Bharti, Sultan Shah Lala, ogesh Sharma, Maya Trivedi and others participated in the dharna.
