Ujjain : Chief Secretary (CS) Anthony de Sa and other officials had to jump to the Gau Ghat owing to the locked gate of the Government Jiwajirao Observatory, here on Friday evening. Making a surprise change in his scheduled meetings, the CS suddenly reached at the Gau Ghat in his bid to develop a VIP ghat there, so that neither the common devotees nor the visiting VIPs should have any inconvenience during the bath.
After conducting inspection of the various ongoing construction works in the pre-lunch session on the first day of his visit, the CS reviewed the works and new proposed works of Public Works Department, Road Development Corporation, Public Health Engineering Department, Police Department, Ujjain Municipal Corporation, Water Resources Department, Culture Department, Tourism Development Corporation, Public Relations Department, etc. The meeting continued till late night. DGP Surendra Singh, Additional PS (Home) BP Singh, Principal Secretary PHED, Ashiwini Rai, PS, Tourism, Veera Rana, MD, Ashwini Lohani, PS, Culture, Manoj Shrivastava, Commissioner Ajatshatru and Commissioner, Public Relations Anupam Rajan among others were present.
Meanwhile, leaving everybody surprised at the Simhastha Fair Office, the CS left for Gau Ghat about 6 pm and remained there for an hour. He was also accompanied by the Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastor, IG V Madhu Kumar, Collector Kavindra Kiyawat, SP Manohar Verma and Mela Officer Avinash Lavaniya among others. At that time the back gate of the Gau Ghat located at the Observatory premises was closed and before the policemen could break the locks, the said officers jumped at the ghat to discuss their plans. The CS directed to prepare a separate ghat there for the VIPs and a helipad so that there should be no confrontation during the visits of the VIPs during the mega international event.
