Court directs PCB, admin officials to file status report on Kshipra pollution

Ujjain :  The double bench of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in its order issued on March 14 asked Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Indore Municipal Commissioner, Regional Officer MP Pollution Control Board, Superintending Engineer and PHE department to inspect the Kshipra river bed and adjoining areas of Kshipra along with the petitioner Bakir Ali Rangwala and submit a detailed report based on the status of pollution prevailed in Kshipra.

The Court asked respondents to ensure that all the STPs should be in working condition. PCB was asked to ensure whether these STPs are in working condition or not and there is any pollution in Kshipra river or not. They were directed to submit the detailed report within a period of 15 days. They were also asked to list the suggestions how would they would they maintain the purity of Kshipra in future. The court also directed that the Kshipra must be fluent and pollution free in view of the upcoming Simhastha Fair.
