What courses should l look to pursue since I considering my areas of interest? — Anil Rege Dear Anil, Maths and finance are two different disciplines, just because there are related to numbers they are not necessarily co- related. Finance is a wide area comprising of accounts, auditing, corporate finance, cost accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, and so on. Each of these is a distinct discipline. If you think you are good at analysis and statistics, then managment accounting and financial analysis are good areas to be in and CFA or MBA ( Finance) with the project in this area can aid for a career in this space. If you feel you are good at quality, have an eye for details, and a good at looking at things in a critical manner, auditing might interest you, and you could look at pursuing chartered accountancy.
With mathematics, there are various options, but you have to make a choice looking at the syllabus ahead of you, in the coming years at the graduation and the postgraduation level, not at the exams gone by. Look within you, and find what you are most interested in – what you can be and what you want to be and then decide the career you want to pursue.
