Ujjain: Ujjain municipal corporation is facing stiff opposition for imposition garbage lifting charges.
Protesting the imposition of garbage lifting tax, head of City Congress Committee Anant Narayan Meena handed over a memorandum addressed to the commissioner Ujjain division to ADM Avadhesh Sharma on Saturday and warned of massive agitation if the tax is not revoke.
The spokesperson of the party Rajendra Rathore said the Union government has already imposed cess under cleanliness campaign, so the same tax cannot be levied again. He further said the agitation would be launched soon on blocks and wards level for awareness in this regard.
On this occasion Jai Singh Darbar, Bharat Porwal, Yogesh Sharma, Yogesh Vyas, Omprakash Lot, Purshottam Nagraj, Mahesh Soni, Hafeez Quereshi, Vivek Yadav, Mukesh Panchal, senior party leaders and workers were also present.
