City to observe bandh for two days

Ujjain: Ahead of general elections- 2014, Congress and BJP parties have called ‘ bandh’ to push their own agendas. Congress party is going to observe city bandh on Wednesday in protest against PEB scam and demanding CBI enquiry in multi- crore PMT- scam. While the BJP is going to observe district ‘ bandh’ on Thursday to protest against Union government for not providing relief fund to hailstorm- hit farmers.

On the call of State Congress, the district unit of the party will observe a ‘ bandh’ in city on Wednesday demanding CBI enquiry into the multi- crore PMT- scam.

DCC president Anantnarayan Meena said that the city will observe bandh in protest against corruption in PEB of MP. Congress workers will move across the city seeking support of shop owners, petrol pumps, public transport services and others. A memorandum addressing to the Governor will be handed over to collector BM Sharma later in the day. Academic institutions, medical shops, vehicles involved in transporting students and milk dairies are exempted from the bandh.

The collector has deployed administrative officials in the city to maintain law and order during the bandh on Wednesday. City Magistrate Jayant Joshi, SDM SS Solanki, City Magistrate Meena Mishra, SDM Rohan Saxena, Additional Tehsildar Shantilal Shrimal, Nayab Tehsildar Sunil Jaiswal, Shekhar Choudhary, Prabhulal Verma and others have been deployed in different police station areas of the city.

Similarly, the BJP will call a bandh across the district on Thursday in protest against the Union government for not providing relief fund to the State for distributing compensation to the hailstorm affected farmers. BJP district president Shyam Bansal said his party has called the state- wide protest and sit- in protest against Union government’s step- motherly treatment towards Madhya Pradesh.

Bandh will be observed all over the district in Nagda- Khachrod, Tarana, Rupakhedi, Kaytha, Kanasia, Makdon, Mahidpur, Jagoti, Ghonsla, Khedakhajuria, Mahidpur Road, Ingoria, Kharsod, Ghattia, Bichhrod and others. Meanwhile, PRO Father Antony Joseph in a press released informed that it will be a working day for all the missionary schools unless and until it’s being declared as a holiday by the government.
