BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, in his letter to Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Friday, expressed disappointment over non- removal of Dow Chemicals from the sponsorship of London Olympics 2012.

He also wrote a letter to union minister for sports Ajay Makan over the same issue.

Chauhan, in his letter to PM said that Government of India should register its protest and if Olympic organising committee does not remove Dow Chemicals, Government of India should take a decision not to participate in the 2012 Olympics. Referring to the resignation of senior member of sustainability commission Alexander, Chauhan said that Dow Chemicals is linked with worlds worst industrial tragedy and despite the protest all over the world, Dow Chemicals has been allowed for sponsorship.

Chauhan further said that Dow Chemicals is responsible for the deaths in Bhopal gas tragedy In the letter to Makan, Chauhan said that on moral grounds, it is necessary to get Dow Chemicals removed from the sponsorship of London Olympics.
