CM reviews Simhastha Fair-2016 dev works; directs officials to speed up works

Ujjain : The Chief Minister was informed by divisional commissioner Dr Ravindra Pastor about progress of 6717 proposed works including construction of control room-cum-watchtower, building of Mela office, major bridges, external and internal roads being constructed by PWD and constructed, under-construction works of Water Resources Development Department and works being undertaken by Environment and Pollution Control Board and Madhya Pradesh Western Region Power Distribution Company. The Chief Minister also sought information about power distribution as per consumption during Simhastha.

Earlier, Chouhan worshipped Maa Bhukhi Mata. School Education Minister Paras Jain, MP Chintamani Malviya, MLA Dr. Mohan Yadav, distinguished citizens and officers were present on the occasion.Chief Minister started his review from the Police line square, where he asked the officials to construct wide roads as crowd control will be much easier. CM directed the officials to complete the work within provided time limits. Special secretary at Vivek Agrawal was directed to specifically monitor the project from the secretariat at Bhopal, so as the works may be completed in time. Chouhan directed for plantation between the newly built four-lane road at the engineering college.

The CM straight forwardly said, there should no compromise with quality on any condition. MPRDC made Indore-Unhel link road was also inspected. During the review of work at Intake well of Gaughat, saying adequate water must be provided during Simhastha. The officials said new pipelines for potable water will be laid in Simhastha area after the reaping of crops. CM was updated about all 11 under construction bridges around the city at an exhibition laid out by administration near Lalpur. PWD officials explained the plans with maps, guides and diagrams. During his inspection at Ramghat, CM Chouhan was greeted by group of pilgrims of Gujarat. Chouhan later invited the tourists to the Simhastha Fair.

CM also visited 450 beds, under construction mother-child hospital at Koyla Fatak area, which is being built with a fund of Rs 74.43 crores. He also interacted with officials of the Health department and issued necessary instructions to maintain adequate stock of medicines and health equipment during the Simhastha and instructed the officials to be ready on their side. The CM said deadline for completing all the work is December 2015. Principal Secretary Praveer Krishna was present. During his visit of Mahakaleshwar temple, Chouhan directed temple administrator Joshi for cleansing of Rudra Sagar, he also told officials to take expert help. The CM declared to start the stopped work of Mahakal Tunnel, which has been mired into controversies since its start. PWD will complete the work of Agar road and Begum Bag.
