City under silvery siege Sindhu’s Olympics feat

Ujjain : As ace Indian badminton player PV Sindhu climbed on the podium to receive her silver medal, and also the country’s first Olympics silver in the game, citizens here burst into celebration to mark the historic feat, on Friday.

Earlier on the day, special worship was offered to Mahakaleshwar seeking victory for Sindhu in the Rio Olympics finals. Excitement to ran high as the final match between PV Sindhu and Spain’s Carolina Marin was under way on Friday evening. Everyone was seen chanting prayers and seeking victory for Sindhu in finals. Despite her defeat to Carolina in the finals, people in the country as well as the city thanked her heartily for bringing laurels to the country.

As she won the semifinal match on Thursday, everyone was super excited and organised special prayers for her victory. Big LEDs were installed at several places to watch the final match. Corporator Satyanarayan Chouhan, Radhe Shyam Verma, Buddhiprakash Soni, Rajshri Joshi, Vijay Parmar, Shailendra Vyas and others were present. Everyone was seeking success of Sindhu. Sports lovers burst crackers and distributed sweets as Sindhu bagged silver medal.
