City gears for Republic Day celebrations

Final rehearsal held at Dussehra Maidan

Ujjain: City is all set to celebrate the 64th Republic Day on Saturday at Dussehra Maidan and the final rehearsal of the ceremony was held at the Maidan on Thursday. Minister of Food and Civil Supply Paras Jain will hoist the national flag on this occasion.

He will read out the message of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on the occasion. Republic Day will be celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm on Saturday. On the eve of Republic Day, a musical programme ‘ Bharat Parva’ will be held at Kalidas Academy on Friday.

Rangshirsh will stage the famous play Bharat Bharati directed by Sanjay Mehta. The play is based on the struggle for freedom and the present scenario. Ramkishan Rajak of Sagar and team will present Kadhra folkdance on the occasion.

An exhibition based on different development schemes and works will also be organised by the Public Relations Department.

On Republic Day, special banquets will be organised under mid- day meal programme at government primary and middle schools, EGS centre and Madarsas.

Block Education Officer and Jan Shiksha Centre incharge have been made responsible for monitoring the programme. Several programmes will be organised to mark the occasion. Home Guards, NCC and police will conduct parades on the occasion. Jail warden will be attend the divisional level ceremony.

District Congress Committee ( DCC) will celebrate the Republic Day at Gopal Mandir square at 8 am. Flag hoisting ceremony will be held at Congress Bhavan Kshir Sagar. Congress MP Premchand Guddu, DCC presidents Anantnarayan Meena, Jay Singh Darbar and others will be attend the function.

Likewise, Republic Day programmes will be organised under the leadership of Madhav Nagar Block Congress Committee president Ajeet Singh Thakur at 11 am at Shahid Park. Jiwajiganj Block Congress Committee will also celebrate national festival at Piplinaka Square at 10 am. DCC president Anantnarayan Meena and block president Mukesh Bhati will be the guests on the occasion.

Maharashtra Samaj Ujjani will organise a programme at Tilak Smriti Mandir at 10 am to mark the occasion on Saturday. According to Dr Diwakar Berge, a blood donation camp will be held at 3 pm at Marathi Vyavsayik Mandal. Reliable Group is all set to celebrate the Republic Day at Jaysingpura Pipli Bazaar at 10.30 am.

MLA Shivnarayan Jagirdar, Iqbal Singh Gandhi, Buddhivilas Upadhyay and Bhanwar Singh Chaudhari will be the guests on the occasion.

MP uva Shiv Sena Gau Raksha Nyas will celebrate the 64th Republic Day here on Saturday. Nyas president Manish Singh Chauhan will hoist national flag at 10 am at central office Akhand Mahakal Colony, Jaysingpura.

Students, NCC, Scouts and Guides, policemen and others conducted the final rehearsal of Republic Day Ceremony held at Dussehra Maidan here on Thursday.

All participants of ceremony gathered at ground on early morning and practiced at their level best till sun disappeared from sky. SP Anurag received salute of parading policemen, NCC Cadets and Scout- Guides.
