Ujjain : 125th birth anniversary of the First Prime Minister of the country and favourite of kids, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm in the city. Several schools of the city also organised functions to mark ‘Children Day’ on the birth anniversary of kid’s favourite Chacha Nehru.
District Congress Committee (DCC) remembered Nehru by garlanding his statue located at the Nehru Balodhyan, Kothi Road in which several congressmen were present. Freedom fighter, Amritlal ‘Amrit’ recited a poem based on the martyrdom of freedom fighters. President of DCC, Anant Narain Meena, Former MP Satya Narain Pawarr, Arun Verma, Rajendra Rathore and several congressmen were present.
Similarly, photo frame of Nehru was garlanded at Awantika College by former MLA Rajendra Bharti and Principal Kaina Bhonsle and by staff on the occasion. Likewise, children day was celebrated by Sanskar Valley Public School with fervour in which winner of International Rope Jump Competition, Saumya Agrawal cut red ribbon and kicked off the Children Fair.
