Ujjain : A mass marriage ceremony was organised under the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya here on Tuesday. 125 couples tied the nuptial knot during the mass marriage programme organised at Chimanganj Mandi located at Agar Road.
Minister of School Education Paras Jain blessed the newly wedded couples on this occasion. Addressing at the programme, Jain said that State government has implemented several schemes considering all classes of the society. Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana, Gaon ki Beti and Ladali Lakshmi Yojana are exclusively for girls. Poor families always worry for the marriage of their daughters in the Indian society.
The main objective of Kanyadan Yojana is to provide financial help to marriageable girls of poor families. There is a condition that the girl should complete the age fixed for marriage. Mass marriages are organised on special festivals. It puts a check over the unnecessary expenses of the marriage ceremony. Benefit of the scheme is rendered to all communities of the society. Minister Jain offered presents to the newly wed couples. Around 128 couples tied in nuptial knot at Chimanganj Mandi mass marriage programme while 327 couples at Nagda. Mass marriage programmes were organised at Gadhkalika temple premises and Budhwaria on Tuesday.
