Citizens extend hand in cleansing drive at Triveni Ghat

Ujjain: Hundreds of citizens have started extending their services in cleansing drive being underway at Triveni Ghat. People have been helping members of Kshipra Lok Sanskriti Samiti to unearth silt prevailed at ghats to beautify the premises for public welfare.

State Planning Commission Vice-chairman Babulal Jain on Thursday gave his services in the cleansing drive. He appreciated the work of public welfare and said that the job initiated by the organization will be beneficial for devotees and commoners who will have holy bath at the ghat.

He also praised MLA Mohan Yadav for leading this act of public welfare. Former MLA Shiva Kotwani in his address said that Narmada water flowing in Kshipra will be very profitable for entire Malwa region. Former Ujjain Development Authority Chairman Kishore Khandelwal said that MLA Yadav had initiated the work which had been lying pending for years and it is commendable job.

Municipal Speaker Sonu Gehlot also praised MLA Yadav for his initiative. Yadav in his address said that State government had invested Rs 432 crore in Narmada-Kshipra Simhastha Link Project. The ancient pilgrimage of Ujjain will be revived under this project. People from nearby villages have been arriving at Triveni Ghat for extending their service in cleansing drive. About 90 dumpers full of silt were unearthed from the river on Friday.
