CM Prithviraj Chavan has reprimanded CIDCO officials in Navi Mumbai pointing out at the lack of transparency in the government body that is usually embroiled in controversies.
The CM was speaking at
a public function organized for inauguration of the CIDCO- built Agri Koli community cultural gallery at Nerul. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was also present on the occasion. ” Due to the central RTI Act it has become difficult for officers to hide their mistakes. Due to lack of transparency in the working, the confidence of the public at large has been compromised.
Therefore, there is scope for everybody to improve.
However, there would be no respite for any wrongdoing,” the CM warned. The CM also said that the government was serious about solving pending issues like redevelopment of CIDCO buildings, homes built by the project affected persons, CIDCO recruitments, distribution of land in the 12% scheme among others.
He also said that the government would implement SRA on the lines of Mumbai, for the development of slums.
DCM Ajit Pawar went a step further and raised questions about building of the concerned gallery and reprimanded CIDCO officials.
He expressed disapproval regarding the quality of construction of the Rs. 30 crore gallery. He also observed that there seems to be a lot of problems in road building in the city, saying officials of PWD, corporation as well as CIDCO need to be put to work for this. He also warned that those corporators who try to raise obstacles will be taken to task.
