Ujjain : Disputes and counter challenges deferred the officials announcements of 21 member Krishi Upaj Mandi Grain Merchant Association elections which were held amidst hectic development held here on Wednesday.

According to the reliable sources, Vikas Panel claimed to have captured 10 directors till the time of reporting during the elections of the new body of Grain Merchants’ Association held at Chimanjganj Krishi Upaj Mandi. Mukesh Harbhajanka from Vikas Panel was elected as director.

Sources informed that 21 directors were elected during the election. 10 directors from Vikas Panel, 6 from Maha Mangal Panel and 5 from Sadbhavna Panel were elected. In all 43 candidates were contesting in the elections. Mukesh Harbhajanka from Vikas Panel got 246 out 369 votes and was elected as director.

There are 369 members including 19 female members in the association and three panels contested the elections. The competition was between Vikas panel, Mahamangal panel and Sadbhawana panel. The elections were conducted under the supervision of election officer Satish Rajwani and counting of votes continued till late in the night.
