The Centre has expressed its displeasure over the delay on the part of state government in sending an IAS officer to Chhattisgarh- the state allotted to her.

At its last review meeting, the departme

nt of personnel and training of the central government asked the state government officials to explain as to why they did not send Dr M. Geeta, IAS officer of 1997 batch to join her cadre. State government officials, however, had no explanation for the delay, said official sources.

District collector of Ujjain Dr Geeta was allotted Chhattisgarh cadre but she was granted relief for the time being by the administrative tribunal on health grounds. She later moved High Court against cadre allocation.

The matter is still sub judice though she has not been granted stay from the court.
