SURESH GOLANI Bhayandar The 52- year- old, brave- heart from Mira Road, who was employed as the Chief Ministers alt39 chopdaralt39 ( peon) in the fire ravaged Mantralaya building, saved three people before his own life was snuffed out whi
le trying to rescue another victim.
The brave- heart has been identified as Mohan Shankar More, a resident of Megha building in the Srushti Complex area of Mira Road. In fact, even as More was engaged in the valiant rescue effort, he had called up his home at about 3 pm and spoken to his wife who had little inkling that this would be the last time she would hear her husband.
More not just rescued three people, but went back into the building braving the ravaging fire apparently to save his former colleague- Tukaram More who was also trapped inside. Unfortunately he failed to return.
However, the news of Mohan Mores death has come as a severe jolt to his family that was reassured about his safety after his phone call informing them about his well being and his efforts to rescue his colleagues.
The family was in disbelief and searched for More the entire night. As the news of Mores death trickled in, a pall of gloom descended in the Srushti complex area of Mira Road.
Mores neighbours remember him as a soft- spoken and kind hearted human being who always lent a helping hand to people in need.
EVEN as More was engaged in the valiant rescue effort, he had called up his home at about 3 pm and spoken to his wife who had little inkling that this would be the last time she would hear her husband.
