PCC president Kantilal Bhuria has said that perturbed by a report released by Congress on illegal mining, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has published advertisements highlighting the revenue generated

by department of mines.

In the advertisement he had claimed that the revenue during BJP rule is greater than that in the rule of Congress. Bhuria said the revenue might have doubled if there had not been scams in the mining department. The mining scams in the state are about Rs 6 lakh crores which is bigger than the one discovered in Bellary.

He said through the advertisement the BJP government has claimed that the revenue generated through mining department was Rs 3111 crores in 2011 while it was Rs 614 crores during the tenure of Congress government in the state in 2003. Bhuria claimed that in 2003 the mining was done on a very limited area in comparison to large scale mining across the state under BJP rule. Almost one third of the total land of the state has been dug by the mining department and comparative revenue is less than half.
