Betting brawl turns ugly, 2 stabbed

Ujjain : Two persons were stabbed and a vehicle was charred in a clash between a cable operator and another resident of same area here on Tuesday.

According to information, old dispute over distribution of betting money lead to the clash. A cable operator, Umar Khan was stabbed by two persons in Freeganj fruit market area when he was purchasing bag at a nearby shop on Tuesday evening. Two assailants came on bike, stabbing him in thigh. Madhav Nagar police reached the spot and rushed the injured to the hospital. Injured Umar informed that two names to the police, Kallu Bhaya and Antu Bhaya who may have been behind the attack. Later on Tuesday night Kallu Bhaya and his firend Prakash Gupta were passing through Indore-Ujjain highway, when they were stopped by two bike borne youths. The youth pulled both men out of the car stabbing Kallu and torching the car by pouring petrol over it. The youths fled from the scene. CSP Vijay Davar said, it is a matter of old enmity, no one has been arrested from both sides, but counter complaints have been registered from both sides under various section of IPC.
