Banks to issue Simhastha debit cards

Ujjain : The Simhastha Fair area will go cashless this time. The nationalized and private banks have decided to go cashless. Banks will issue Simhastha debit cards. More than 100 ATMs will be installed at the entire Simhastha fair area.

Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting with bankers at the fair office on Tuesday. All the banks have started preparations to go cashless in the coming Simhastha Fair-2016. The banks will also make publicity of this on their websites and will invite visitors to use their debit cards. Those banks having LED monitors will also make publicity regarding Simhastha and debit cards. Dr Pastor urged banks to provide pick and drop facility for the 13 Akhadas of Simhastha. He asked banks to make publicity of debit cards, swipe machines, kiosks, etc to adopt cashless transactions across the fair area.

All the banks will be provided with necessary facility by fair office. Dr Pastor asked bankers to make an assessment before installation of ATMs. Collector Kavindra Kiyawat told that around 15 lakh devotees will reside at fair area permanently. All 13 Akhadas also come under this. All banks should take initiative to go paperless and cashless. Bank of India Zonal Manager told that the bank was thinking about the setting up of micro ATM. All branches will paste the posters for the publicity of Simhastha. IDBI manager told that they had launched Simhastha debit card and they would setup ATM as per the requirement.

Fair officer Avinash Lavania, lead bank manager Pathak, LDM BM Johari, and regional managers of PNB, IDBI, Canara, Central, UCO, Union, NMGB, ICICI and Axis banks were present.
