Attempt to murder: accused gets 5 yr jail

Ujjain : The district court on Monday granted five years of imprisonment to a murder to attempt accused. A fine of Rs 3000 was also imposed on the accused.

Complainant constable Shyamsundar, 35, son of Motilal Choubey had filed a complaint at Dewasgate police station on September 13, 2014. In the complaint, complainant told that he was deployed at railway station when accused Amit Khatik, a resident of Shanti Nagar was seen snatching a passenger’s bag. Accused was chased by complainant and his accomplice Kartar Singh and caught him before Hotel Shrinath. Accused took out a knife and stabbed complainant. Accused was booked under Sections 307, 353, 333, 506 and 186 of IPC. The then TI Yogendra Singh Sisodia investigated the case. AGP Manish Goyal pleaded the case. 10th ADJ Shyam Bihari Verma convicted the accused on September 28, 2015 and granted him imprisonment of 5 years under different sections.
