Ujjain : Assistant Sub-Inspector HN Verma and constable Rajpal Yadav posted with Chimanganj Mandi police have been attached to the Police Lines for allegedly thrashing three youths, whom the cops arrested on late Saturday.
SP MS Verma had ordered probe in the police brutality case. On Saturday, three youths had alleged Chimanganj Mandi police for thrashing them in police custody. Victims filed a complaint against the police brutality and demanded action against cops.
According to victim youths, police arrested Suyanshu Singh Singhal, a resident of Indira Nagar, Ravikishan Gehlot and Rajkumar Gupta, both residents of Kukshi Dhar when they were driving a car to Indira Nagar in midnight. Three youths are students of BCom at Gujarati College, Indore.
They decided to visit Mahakaleshwar Temple, but could not visit the temple due to time conflicts. They decided to go Suyanshu’s house located at Indira Nagar. As they were heading to Indira Nagar, a police jeep stopped them and checked their car.
They took them to Chimanganj Mandi police station and thrashed them brutally. The victim also alleged that police made them to sit in the lockup and thrashed them unnecessarily.
Confirming this CSP Nitesh Bhargava said the SI and constable have been attached to the Police Lines.
