Ancient Shanidev’s idol breaks into pieces

Ujjain :  An adamant Yogi who is an ardent devotee of Lord Shani showed his waywardness by stitching his eyelids at Shani Temple located at the banks of Kshipra here on Thursday. The Yogi decided to stitch his eyelids after an ancient idol of Lord Shani got broken while he was on a journey of twelve Jyotirlingams across the nation.

Yogi Pt Ramkishore Shukla along with his disciples began a journey to twelve Jyotirlingams from Koushambi of Allahabad district in Uttar Pradesh on August 2, 2014. He is an ardent devotee of Lord Shani and decided to go on a journey for world peace. He presided an ancient idol of Lord Shani in his Bolero vehicle. As the Yogi and his disciples reached to the city of temples to visit Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlingam, the ancient idol made of stones fell down and broke into pieces. Yogi Pt Ramkishore Shukla decided to stop his journey after the idol got broken.

Yogi then decided to stitch his eyelids at Shani temple at Triveni Ghat and urged the citizens to provide him a new idol of the deity made of four metals. The idol which got broken weighed 12-13 kg. Yogi also informed Free Press that he had come to the city five years back. An idol was presided over his chest at that time. He keeps tying his arms and legs with iron chains. He will not remove stitches from his eyelids unless he gets new idol of the deity. The Yogi is experiencing through unbearable pain, but he can tolerate it for his favourite lord Shanidev.
