Ujjain : Preparations for hosting 21st convocation ceremony of Vikram University are in full swing. District Administration geared up for making proper arrangements to organise the event successfully. Collector BM Sharma and SP Anurag Kumar along with administrative officials made inspection of convocation venue and issued necessary directives to concerned officials. First rehearsal for the convocation was held at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Collector and SP had a word with Vice-chancellor Prof JL Kaul and Registrar Dr BL Bunkar and received information about the programme schedule. Both the officials made inspection of Silver Jubilee Auditorium as the convocation ceremony might be organized there in case of heavy rainfall on July 25. Governor Ramnaresh Yadav will chair the convocation ceremony while Technical Education and Skill Development, Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta will be chief guest of the programme. Vice-chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Prof R Venket Rao will deliver convocation address as special guest of the event.
The rehearsal for the convocation ceremony was held at convocation ground at Madhav Bhavan premises of the varsity in the presence of VC, Registrar, conveners, members and students. About 296 students have got registration for convocation till 5 pm on Wednesday.
Registered research scholars and students have been called to attend second rehearsal to be held on Thursday. Research scholars and students will be distributed gowns from enquiry office at 10 am on Thursday.
Urban Administration and Development Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya, School Education Minister Paras Jain, Member of Parliament Dr Chintamani Malviya and MLA Mohan Yadav will be guests of honours during convocation.
