Ujjain : Additional Director General of police (ADGP), crimes against women, Aruna Mohan Rao directed the city police to take immediate action in crimes against women, and asked them to step up investigation in pending cases against women, and dispose them.
The ADGP held a meeting at the police headquarters, here on Thursday, to review crimes against women. It was attended by IG V Madhukumar, IG crime against women Indore RP Shrivastava, DIG Rakesh Gupta, SP MS Verma and all SPs of nearby districts. A comparative analysis of the crimes and atrocities against women in all the districts was done during the meeting and directives regarding the shortcomings were given by the officer. Officers have also been asked to review security in educational institutes and check whether CCTV cameras are installed and if all security measures are in place.
The ADGP also directed police officers to identify ‘bad characters’ in their jurisdiction and keep watch on bad elements. The ADGP and IG also reviewed pending cases against women and asked officers to take necessary steps. ADGP asked police officers to exhaust all methods to apprehend accused in pending cases. They have been asked to complete the investigation in a fixed timeframe and file charge-sheets in those cases in which investigations are complete.
