Ujjain: A new era in the BJP in Ujjain parliamentary constituency began on Thursday with party High- Command deciding to field a young, highly educated, but down to earth candidate, Chintamani Malviya from this seat.
Despite strong resistance of stalwarts like Thawarchand Gehlot and Satya Narayan Jatiya, Malviya, a philosophy professor, was tipped for the ticket on the behest of RSS. It was like a miracle in the BJP camp to choose a fresh candidate like Chintamani Malviya as nobody among established leadership were agreed to support a dynamic personality. As informed by former Municipal Speaker Prakash Chittoda, Malviya was a street vendor and had to earn his bread and butter due to his labour.
In State Election Committee at Bhopal, none of the party leaders agreed to Malviya’s name, but finally top RSS leaders like Makhan Singh and Bhagwat Sharan Mathur forced to agree them. Malviya became a common choice due to these leaders. Malviya is a professor and head, Department of Philosophy, Vikram University. He is arriving in the city from Delhi at 10 am on Friday. After the official declaration of Malviya’s name for BJP’s candidate from Ujjain- Alot parliamentary constituency, his supporters burst crackers and expressed delight at Tower Chowk. They raised slogans in support of Malviya and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
