Cleansing work at Triveni Ghat in progress

Ujjain: The cleaning drive of 200-meter stretch of Kshipra river at Triveni Ghat near Shani temple under the aegis of Kshipra Lok Sanskritik Samiti is in progress. About 80 dumpers of silt were removed from the river on the third day of cleaning drive on Tuesday.

MLA Mohan Yadav said that common people should have information about the utility of water. Devotees take holy dip in Narmada and Kshipra river. Maximum people should join the drive to make river clean. Samiti president Naresh Sharma informed that silt from the 100 meter area of Triveni Ghat is being removed with the help of JCB machines and dumpers.

Samiti members and commoners extended their services in the drive. About 80 dumpers of silt have been removed from the ghat so far. Devotees who arrived in the city from Ahmadabad (Gujarat) have praised the initiative taken by the Samiti. Chief engineer of ONGC Ahmadabad met MLA Yadav and had a discussion about the cleaning of ghats. He appreciated the efforts.
