Ujjain : 70 devotees will dedicate their lives to the service of lord Krishna on this New Year and will become disciples in a Diksha ceremony of ISKCON temple here.
The ceremony will be organised around 9 am of the New Year’s Day and will continue till late evening. Although this time the society is in scarcity of foreign devotees and the all the 70 to be disciples are of Indian origin. Spokesperson Pt Raghav Das said the ceremony of initiation will start with Yajna and rituals of purification, followed by recitation of Bramhasamhita. The Yajna will be performed by the new disciples and then they will be given teachings of lord’s glory.
Bhakticharuji will give Diksha to these disciples in a ceremony, where he himself will give the disciples, rosary effectuated by his hands. He said the whole ceremony takes a whole day. In all this the new disciples will be given new names from thousands of names of lord Krishna, completing the ritual. Bhakticharuji is presently orating in the ISCKON retreat, an annual event. Under the event daily discourses are underway.
