Ujjain : 60th National School Games organised by Department of School Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh at Mahananda Nagar Sports Arena concluded here on Friday. Minister of School Education Minister Paras Jain was chief guest of the concluding ceremony while MLA Mohan adav presided over the programme.
Publicity convener Amitoj Bhargava informed that the concluding ceremony of National School Games began with lamp lightening with the simultaneous singing of Madhya Pradesh anthem by students of School of Excellence.
Municipal Speaker SonuGehlot and Arjun Awardee Kho- Kho Sushma Golwarkar were special guests. Assistant director
RK Paliwal welcomed guests while NS Solanki presented badges to the guests. Padmaja Raghuwanshi and Jyoti Jain conducted the proceedings and P Holani proposed a vote of thanks. Delhi boys in Greco- roam wrestling scored 42 points in sports and won the overall championship trophy. States of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were the runner ups with 22 and 16 points, respectively.
Haryana girls clinched the first title in freestyle category by scoring 22 points and there by winning overall championship trophy.
Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra were the runner up with scoring 18 and 6 points respectively. School Education minister Paras Jain, who was the chief guest at the closing day function, gave away first, second and third prizes to winners in khokho, wrestling and other categories.
Minister also distributed trophies to the winning teams. Speaking on the occasion, Ministers impressed upon the students to actively participate in the games and sports activities for their overall development.
Earlier, the girls enthralled the gathering with folk and classical dances. About 1,200 students from 25 state schools participated in it.
