Ujjain: About 40 BJP leaders, who were enjoying berths in various capacities in different corporations, boards and committees, became jobless on the 10th day of party forming its government for the third consecutive time as the State government on Monday evening issued orders to cancel all such political appointments.

From Ujjain, many senior leaders had been enjoying the status of cabinet minister or minister of state for a long time. They included Babulal Jain ( vice- chairman, State Planning Commission), Mohan adav ( chairman, State Tourism Development Corporation), Pradeep Pandey ( vice- chairman, MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad), Ashok Prajapat ( chairman, MP Matikala Board) and Sanwar Patel ( chairman, State Haj Committee).

After issuance of the orders, the board of directors of Ujjain Development Authority was also dissolved. Here, Kishore Khandelwal happened to be the chairman while there was one vice- chairman and four board of directors. Likewise, three- member Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee was also dissolved. It was for the first time in the history that this important committee was dissolved in 18 months, around 18 months before its tenure.

Other such committees were also dissolved with immediate effect. According to sources, these appointments were cancelled to pave the way for re- constitution of the corporations, boards and committees.But, reconstitution of these bodies is likely to be held after Lok Sabha elections.

It is learnt that those leaders and workers will be preferred in the forthcoming appointments who were being sidelined for a long time.

Jain gets school edu along with MoS!

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on late Monday allocated portfolios to the members of his cabinet. Accordingly, five- time MLA from Ujjain North and Cabinet Minister Paras Jain was given the charge of School Education department. He had also worked in the same department during 2005- 2008, but as a minister of state ( MoS). Jain has been given only one department and MoS Deepak Joshi has been attached with him. Both belong to Ujjain division. Joshi is a three- time MLA from Hatpipliya ( Dewas district). Jain will arrive in the home town on Tuesday morning. He will be taken to his residence in a rally form from the Circuit House.
