As many as 100 girls, including three from Ujjain, will undertake the mountain bike expedition of about 600 km covering the worlds most hazardous and treacherous terrain from August 16.

According to Yo

uth Hostels Association of India ( YHAI) local chapter chairman Navin Mathur and secretary Anoop Shrivastava, the event is being organized for girls under national mountain biking expedition of the YHAI. Its local members Anita Gaur, Dr Manisha Thakur and Dr Archana Kothari have been selected for the expedition. They will report at Seobagh ( Kullu) base camp on August 16.

The participants will cover the distance in 19 days climbing Rohtang Pass ( 13, 051 ft), Bara Lacha Pass ( 16, 050 ft), Lachung La Pass ( 16, 600 ft) and Tanglang La Pass ( 17, 469 ft) and finally reach the worlds highest motorable Khardung La Pass ( 18, 380 ft). The YHAI had also organized similar event for male participants, in which local member Shailendra Sharma and Satish Yadav had taken part.
