26 gamblers arrested; Rs 1.06 lakh recovered

Ujjain: Police raided a gamblers’ den at Panthpiplai village on Indore Road and caught 26 persons, most of them belong to Indore, while gambling, here on Monday evening.

According to information, a special police team led by ASP ( City) Rajesh Vyas and Central Kotwali CSP Saurabh Mishra ( IPS officer) raided a field at village Panthpiplai after getting a tip- off that some traders of Indore use to gamble called ‘ ghodi jua’. When they reached the spot, they found the tipoff as correct. On seeing the police, the gamblers became restless and tried to run away from there.

Police said 26 persons were arrested while gambling. A cash of Rs 1.06 lakh was recovered from their possession. 24 mobile phones, 8 motorbikes and one car were also recovered from them. Surprisingly, the police team did not inform the concerned Neelganga police station. All the accused were handed over to the police station later along with the seized materials. FIR was being filed at the time of filing this report.
