Ujjain : Dance and music performances presented by school students marked the conclusion of 16th School State Level Kalidas Fest-2015 at Mahakal Sabha Mandap, here on Monday. Winners of the competitions were awarded prizes.
The valedictory ceremony was inaugurated with the lamp lightening and a dance drama titled ‘Amantran Simhastha Ka’ and Shiv Stuti by Pratibha Dance Academy. Participants of Bhopal and Jabalpur divisions also presented dance dramas based on the literature of Kalidas. District Education Officer Sanjay Goyal delivered welcome speech and introduced the guest. Literary guest Dr Tulsidas Paroha in his address said that the division of the family, society and nation can be stopped by reading the Kalidas’s literature. He is also relevant today. By reading Kalidas’s Abhigyanshakuntalam, one can feel the glory of the heaven and the earth simultaneously.
Minister Paras Jain was chief guest. He said that the nation is identified by Kalidas. Jain also proposed to increase the prize money as Rs 15000 for first prize, Rs 10, 000 for second prize and Rs 5000 for third prize. Ashok Kadel chaired the concluding ceremony and said that school education department is conveying the literature of Kalidas to the public and it is commendable. The fest can be celebrated at the national level. Publicity committee convener Amitoj Bhargava informed that annual souvenir of Kalidas Samaroh-2014 ‘Vishala’ was released by the guests. Participants were felicitated by cash prize and certificates. Dr Padamja Raghuwanshi and Manoj Dwiwedi conducted the programme while Dr RP Gupt proposed the vote of thanks.
