Ujjain : Authorities and police administration in the city have geared up for the Nag Panchami festival. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the heavy rush of pilgrims at the Naagchandreshwar temple. As the temple opens only once in a year and that too only for 24 hours, the administration has made elaborate arrangements for the special day.
According to official press release, 1600 police personnel have been deployed for the special day for security and arrangements at the temple. Vehicular traffic has been restricted at various points in the nearby areas of the temple from evening of July 31 to August 1. Special parking spots for 24 hours have been planned by police.
The whole Mahakal Ghati area has been restricted for all kinds of vehicles. Vehicles coming from Indore, Dewas and Maksi will be parked at Narsingh Ghat, Kartik Mela Ground and Harifatak bridge. Pilgrims coming for darshan for Nagchandreshwar can park their vehicles at Yadav Dharmshala and Government Urdu School premises. Similarly, vehicles coming from Agar, Barnagar, Ratlam, Unhel, Nagda and Khachrod can park their vehicles at Kartik Mela ground. VIP’s have been given special entry and exit route for the day that spans through Harifatak overbridge, Jantar Mantar, Jaisingpura, Chardham Temple, Harsiddhi Square, Bada Ganesh to Mahakaleshwar Temple.
