Ujjain : Simhastha mela authorities are preparing for the meeting of the 13 akharas to be held on February 21.
Soon letters would be issued to the office bearers including Shri Mahants, Mahants, Secretary and Kothari of the akharas to participate in the meeting. Although the mela authorities are touting the meeting to be a peaceful, but the waves going in the different akharas, tell a different story. Prime issues which the authorities are planning to discuss the akhara office bearers include finalisation of the Shahi Snana dates and Peshwayi routes and time. Clash between the sadhus of different akharas have been reported, over Shahi Snana and Peshwayi entry to the city. To avoid any clash the authorities have decided to call the 13 akharas to resolve any indifference.
But, the winds are south for the mela authorities. It will be for the first the 13 akhara will share a single table and uproar is certain. The special treatment of Mahant Narendra Giri and Mahant Gyandas has certainly become an eyesore to other akhara representatives. The issue of Akhara Parishad chair is certain in the meeting, which the mela authorities are trying to avoid. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh could also become the part of meeting, as it was the long pending demand of the akhara representatives.
