Ujjain : As many as 1100 Home Guards were imparted an essential training to save people from drowning in Kshipra during Simhastha Mahakumbh, at Ramghat on Tuesday. Trainers from Hugli river of Kolkata briefed the Home Guards about the nuances of rescuing a life during adverse circumstances.

Around 60 Home Guards, platoon commanders and commandants have come back after receiving a month-long training at the Hugli river of Kolkata. They addressed the Home Guards at the beginning of the 5-day training programme at Ramghat in the presence of saints and officials. Golden Baba, SFA Chairman Diwakar Natu, Home Guard IG Kamal Singh Rathore, Santosh Jat, divisional commandant RK Padak, Sangeeta Kumar, BL Verma, Kamlendra Singh and Ashish Khare were present.

The guards were imparted training to deal with disastrous situation life earthquake and flood and first aid. Trainers demonstrated how to rescue people from drowning in the river and explained the ways to restore the life of drowning person. Cops of Special Disaster Rescue Force from 5 divisions of the State were present. Team of 18 swimmers will be deputed at Ramghat and Dutt Akhara ghat. 10, 000 Home Guards are on duty at Simhastha.
