The investigators added that the same person had joined a gym in Kumbharwada area of south Mumbai too. The sleuths have now seized the gyms membership register and are questioning the staffers.
The ATS revealed that one of the planters of the deadly 13/ 7 bombs had joined the alt39 Gulabpuran Gawli Fitness Centrealt39, located at the residential premises of underworld gangster Arun Gawli. Maharashtra ATS Chief Rakesh Maria said, ” The accused had not submitted his photograph while enrolling himself for the period of August 10, 2011 to October 2011 by paying Rs 3,700 as fees. We have seized the membership register of the fitness centre and are interrogating the manager and the instructor to find out who introduced the suspect there.” Initial inquiry revealed that the accused is in his late 20s. Another officer added, ” The person registered himself by giving the address, which was more or less same to the one given in the previous gym.” The sleuths added that they are still clueless about why did the accused join gym, instead of fleeing the city after the terror attack. Earlier, probe had brought to the fore that the same person, whose name has not been revealed yet, had joined a gym in the Kubharwada area, near the LT Marg police station.
The sleuths also added that they would get custody of Haroon Naik, for interrogating him in connection with his alleged role of arranging finance for the triple blasts. Maria added, ” We would be getting his custody by early next week.” The sleuths are also in the process of interrogating the brother of arrested accused Naqi Ahmeds brother Taqi. The officials stated that he was summoned for questioning, however, he claimed that he was unwell and also could not arrange a train ticket.
Hence, now the sleuths would give him another date for appearing before the ATS.
