Xiaomi hasn’t stopped to amaze us in recent times. The growingly impressive company has launched its Xiaomi Yi Camera Night Vision Edition.

It goes without saying that the gadgets Xiaomi has been throwing at us lately have taken the masses by a storm. Not only is the company getting its feet set into high standards of quality but also a reputation for being priced just the way we like it. With the design and aura of a traditional webcam, the Yi Camera is a hype that we definitely would like to indulge in. Of course the device will only be available in China in the initial stages, but that won’t stop us.

A lot about the Yi Camera Night Vision Edition, is similar to its predecessor. The camera features an all glass lens and can be flexibly adjusted to a number of angles. As far as specifications go, it measures a dainty 54 mm and records with the brilliance of 720p resolutions. It adds onto its host of features with a 20fps frame rate and live image streaming via the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. Storage is also fairly simple and convenient, having a micro SD card slot. You can rely on being able to use cards up to a good 32GB.

As its name aptly suggests, the Yi Camera will allow you to take pictures at night from a fair distance of about 5 meters. The company has been raving about the 940mm infrared camera sensor that makes the night photography so convenient. The companion app of the Yi Camera goes perfectly with smartphones that run on software versions later than the iOS 7.0 and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

If there is one thing that has always kept us on our toes about the Xiaomi brand, it is the great design, high quality, technical brilliance, and let us not forget – The Price. Once it is up for sale, the Yi camera will be available for CNY 149, which roughly makes it around Rs.1500. That’s a deal most techies would love to male.

We are absolutely stoked about this latest Xiaomi unravel and can’t wait to get our hands on the real deal.
